We’ve reviewed the Pre-Kaged by Kaged Muscle, fruit punch flavour as part of our search to find and review the best pre-workouts available.

We had a few reviewers try a wide range of pre-workouts before heading to the gym for a workout and told them to note the effects they felt, including performance boost and side effects.

Pre Kaged Preworkout

First, let’s take a look at what Pre-Kaged aims to do.

Pre-Kaged pre-workout claims to boost endurance performance, increase alertness and help to work through plateaus. It also says it will help to create new personal records.

This pre-workout sets high standards.

But, does Pre-Kaged meet its claims?

We’ve had three reviewers including myself, try it out to give you an honest Pre-Kaged pre workout review.

Overall Effectiveness

I noticed an energy boost around 15 minutes after taking this supplement. This encouraged my focus and drive meaning I pushed myself throughout my workout.

The energy and focus lasted throughout my workout, although I did not reach any new personal bests.

My stamina and endurance were at a high, even when I was doing my cool-down.

I did not feel any muscle pump, nor did I expect to.

I felt great after the workout and did not experience any tingling like I have with other pre-workouts.

I would definitely try Pre-Kaged again but I would try it with an extra scoop to see if I could have an even better workout where I beat personal records.

It helped with our workouts but not as much as others we had used previously.

Energy and Focus

You do feel the initial boost of energy kick in, which does cause you to zone in and focus on your workout.

“This wasn’t my best workout but I had enough energy to complete a decent session at the gym” – Luke, male reviewer, 5’11”, 164lbs.

Once I felt the Pre-Kaged taking an effect, I was ready to go, ready to work and give it my best in the gym.

I’d argue the mental/focus benefits are maybe better than the physical energy boost with this pre-workout.

You do get a helping hand from this pre-workout, but I feel it just lacks ‘oomph’. Especially when you consider for less money you can buy stronger and more effective pre-workouts.


Taste and Mixability

I wasn’t a huge fan of the taste of Pre-Kaged fruit punch. It wasn’t the worst I’ve tried but certainly not the best.

And there’s a lot of it, you need more water for the Pre-Kaged than others. I didn’t actually have a glass big enough to contain the water needed for the mix. I had to use a smoothie blender cup. Not the biggest problem in the world, I’ll admit.

Obviously, the taste or the cup isn’t the focus here so I wasn’t too bothered about the taste. It did look like it was a fruit punch when mixed though.

Pre Kaged Mixed

It mixed pretty well, in my opinion. I shook it vigorously for about 3 minutes and it worked well. The consistency was smooth with some residue left behind.

The residue did not affect the texture, so it was not a problem for me.

Side Effects

I did not experience any tingles after taking this supplement.

Nor did I experience a crash afterwards.

However, we all did experience different side effects. Myself and another reviewer both expirienced light headedness and I felt nauseous after my workout for around 45 minutes, this may or may not be related to the preworkout but I am not sure.

Our third reviewer stated that he had a stomach ache following drinking the pre workout.

“I had a bit of stomach ache at the beginning of my workout. This wore off but I definitely felt some cramps after taking it” – Jordan, male reviewer, 5’9″, 155lbs.



If I’m cutting to the chase, Pre-Kaged is an average pre workout, in my opinion.

I personally don’t love it, nor do I hate it. It is just an average pre-workout – for my body at least. That doesn’t mean it’s bad, it’s just not the best one I’ve tried.

Although other users had a different experience with it, they all felt some sort of energy boost and focus after supplementing it.

It definitely helps to engage you in your workout and improves alertness.

But when you look at the caffeine, beta-alanine and creatine amounts in the Pre-Kaged, the levels are similar to the N.O. Xplode preworkout (apart from the creatine).
